Training

Most of the on campus trainings were conducted for imparting the skills through practical training in the instructional units of the KVK.  Improving productivity and self-employment generation are the basic objective behind the on campus skill oriented training programmes.  Off campus trainings are conducted in the villages particularly on the farmers field where the method demonstration as well as technological output shown to the trainees.  The field of the innovative farmers are the venue to conduct off campus training programmes.  The KVK organized 74 training courses during reporting period including 44 courses of 1-5 days duration, benefiting 2137 participants including 1722 farmers and 415 farm women.

After training programmes, necessary inputs, services and consultancies were made available so that the technology adoption could be improved.   Most of the training programmes were interlinked with the demonstration and trials that were conducted to extend solution to the location specific problems and to improve the productivity.  Similarly some programmes were focused to reduce the cost of production, ensure natural resource management particularly soil and water besides improving quality of the produce, where as some programmes were focused for agriculture diversification based on market demand and available local resources.

For employment generation through vocational training, KVK has developed instructional units for imparting skill and practical training.    Likewise, the Kendra also organized 7 long duration vocational trainings of 6 to 32 days duration benefiting 151 rural youth. These trainings were based on need and resource availability and the objective & course content were framed with the active participation of trainees. A combination of suitable ICT teaching aids like LCD, Films, Charts etc. were used to make the training more effective, exposure visits and learning by doing concept was also part of training curriculum.

The Kendra organized 70 training programmes for techno- economic empowerment and skill improvement of 3222 farmers & farm women with participation of 3084 ST/SC persons. These trainings were organized in the specific area of agriculture and allied sciences, i.e., crop production (24), horticulture (16), plant protection (1), animal production (10), soil science (9), home science (7) and Agro forestry (3).
