Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Banswara has been selected for Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) project funded by ICAR, New Delhi with financial outlay of Rs. 118.95 Lakhs. In this project, for attracting and retaining youth in agriculture by providing round the year jobs, by developing entrepreneurship among them. Three agro-based vocational training programmes (horticulture nursery and orchard management including hi-tech and protected horticulture, commercial poultry and commercial goat production) have been chosen because in Banswara district there is ample scope of trained professional in these trades. For this purpose 200 youth were selected out of these, 61 youth have been trained during reporting period and trained youth have started to established vocational units at their door step and ensured their livelihoods. Till now 119 rural youth were trained in Nursery management (22 RY),Commercial goat farming (34 RY), Commercial poultry production (63 RY) vocations. Out of these 7 units of nursery, 4 units of goatry and 32 units of poultry has been established.
